The Karoo is as severe as it is beautiful, and the flora and fauna that flourish here are some of the toughest in the world. From Autumn through Winter, north-facing hillsides in the southern reaches of the Karoo are steadily painted with a wave of colour as the flowers of the aloes, or aalwyn in Afrikaans, turn from green to red in a matter of weeks.
 
With their vibrant, sword like leaves and sentry-like postures, aloes have more than survived in this environment, they’ve thrived.
 
Hand Roasted in Small Batches for Freshness and Flavour.
The sweetness of marzipan, red cherries and dried apple with hints of cocoa and an earthy mouthfeel.
